A revolutionary way of bathing..;)

I hate taking showers. Prefer baths, as in using the dipper..not long baths,it's way too time consuming.

For one,the water pressure is always so low. And I cant get all parts of my body wet at the same time. I dread getting my legs used to the cold water and then slowly bringing the shower head to my arms and body. It's so cold!!!
Unless of course, the tropical weather proves too much. Then the cold water doesnt make me shudder and stutter.

I guess i could just stand under the shower and get wet at one go. But the thought of cold water scares me.
Morning showers are fine, coz i use warm/hot water. But not the evening ones.Coz its stupid to shower with hot water in the middle of the day..right?

Over these hols, I've discovered a perfect way to take a bath. Yes, I have plenty of time in my hands.

I fill a pail with almost boiling water (a lil more heat and i'll be in the hospital for second degree burns, thats how hot it is)
Using the cedok, I douse myself, feeling the tingles all over.
If it was totally silent, I swear I'll be able to hear my cells scream for mercy!
Shampoo, soap and condition, then continue scalding till i can't feel myself no more.
For the grand finale, I fill the dipper with cold tap water, and without testing the heat,(or rather, the absence of heat. Coz in chemistry, cold doesnt exist.Cold is the absence of heat.Ha!)
I hold the dipper above my head. Closing my eyes, and anticipating the shock, I tilt the cedok!Aaahhhh!
There. I finish my bath with a sadistic shrug and a smile of content.

You should try it, the shock is amazingly refeshing. Biologically, you've opened( i will not say killed) your cells and cuticles with the hot water, cleaned it with soap or whatever, and closed it with cold water. Take it from a science student who cant get enough of experiments..
Medically proven!Hehehhe....Until,of course, someone threatens to sue me!

Pizza Hut's seafood bullshit...

So it was yesterday, after watching the mouth-watering ad on Tv,did my mom,Pat and I decide to give the new Pizza Hut promo a shot.Pat's such a pizza nut anyway.

To be thoroughly honest, I'm no great fan of seafood. If I were to eat prawns, it would have to be already shelled. No crabs too. Imagine all the hassle of cracking the shell(hammering it..poor animal!) and what do you get in the end? Measly bits of tasteless crab meat. Oh,but i do enjoy sotong,though..and does ikan bilis sambal count? I'm up for that anytime...

Anyway, back to Pizza.I was pretty surprised that they only had the seafood thingy on the menu. Do they do that each time there's something new? Now, I know I'm pretty ignorant, but there's no reason for that cynical smile I see.

We ordered the first Combo Meal, with Spicy Thai for the pizza. The set came with 2 servings of seafood soup, 2 trifles, a seafood lasagne and 2 glasses of Pepsi.I've tried the Island Supreme, and i think it's pretty good.So naturally I was hinting on that. But coz my mom loves Thai food, and also because she's gonna be the one paying, I couldnt say much.
Then the waitress produced something like this board game with a spinnable arrow and a chip at the starting point. Printed on the board were some of their side disheds and you get whatever your chip lands on for free. Unlucky Pat got us a glass of Pepsi. But at least now, we each had our own drink...;)

Soup first.
It tasted as if it was boiled with stale lobsters and prawns. There were lil rectangular bits floating about. I hope it was what I think it was.*cringes*

Then came the lasagne.
Pathetic,to sum up in a word. It tasted like baked baby's puke cooked with cheese.uuurrgghhh!!!

But dont expect their regular portion of lasagne. This is much smaller. No worries though, coz by the taste of it..too much is hazardous.

Apparently they ran out of the pan crust base. So it was either stuffed crust(rm 5 more) or the classic base. Bases aside, the pizza itself was a crying affair. Firstly, it was far from spicy. It was saucy though. The bits of stringy tuna looked like it had been previously chewed on and spat directly onto the pizza. Oh,but there was a galore of crabstich meat. You know, those reddish, pinkish stuff.

The only thing nice in that combo was the dessert, the trifle.
Anyone can make that. First, custard.then layer the top with breadcrumbs and crushed cream crackers (like the base of cheesecakes).Top it of with a layer of instant crystal jelly...there, aint that simple?

Suffice to say, I spent a looooong time in the toilet after that. Finished a whole issue of CLEO..no exaggeration here..
Reliving this tale of dietary torture is horrendous. I'm beginning to feel it in my mouth...yuck!

I cant freakin sleep!!

Toss, turn, toss, turn....blink.blink.sigh....it's 3.45 am and sleep just wont come.
I watched 'Out of Order' on Hallmark a few hours ago,and the main character in the movie said something that absolutely hit home, "I feel like a guest in my own life".
Now, that basically summons up whats going on in this crazy mind of mine right now.

It's not coz I cant seem to beat the damn mobile phone at Bantumi (the phone is a cheat, anyway) and its not coz I'm bloody PMS-ing.
It's just this overwhelming sense of loneliness that creeps inside. And it only happens during the wee hours of the morning. You know, when you're left alone with your thoughts, the thoughts that are struggling away from the knots of sanity. The thoughts that are making you believe that you need to see a shrink.Fast. And then the tears pour. And pour. For no reason.
Like what Debra from Everybody Loves Raymond said..there are days when you just cry.For no apparent reason.Just put on a sappy ballad and cry.
The thing is, I can do this without the music. Imagine 'Are You LOnesome Tonight' on Light And Easy...I'd probably wake up the neighbourhood with my howls!

Goodness,my dad snores like an orchestra!Thats the problem with the PC being in their room.....i cant blog in peace, not with everyone hovering around, trying to get a peek at what i'm up to.
what the hell are this bugs??
wait.what was my point?I'm not here to blog about mutated bugs and bedroom symphonies.
Oh,nevermind, thats me crapping and its a sign that sleep may be near..finally!

And so the band played...

You think you know your friends, and then they turn around and kick dirt in your face.

You think they love your company, and then you realise that without you ,'heck, life goes on!'

You think you've found a companion for life, and then he turns around and walks away.

You think you've found the very solution to your problem, and then the perfect solution becomes another problem.

You think you're loved, and then you wake up alone and bitter.

You think you're smart, and then someone tells you that grades don't matter.

You think you're funny, and then see that you're being snickered at.

You think you're intelligent and will be able to move on, and then it dawns that you cant; that betrayals have paralysed your spirit.

You think you're wise, and then you look around and notice that you're playing in a field of fools.

You think that you can put on a pretence and act like everything's fine, but then remember that you're transparent. Or realise that your friends are too caught up with themselves to realise you're hurt.

You think that if you love with all your heart, everything will fall in place. And then it hits you like a rock that that is a load of bullshit.

You readily offer your ears to people, and then it occurs to you that when you need to pour your soul out, everyone has got their own crap to attend to.

Why do we continue giving the people we love the benefit of the doubt?

Renamed: Election Ommision Commision

You heard it,the EC chairman refuses to resign, but will do so only if the foul up traces back to him. Talk about being thick.

Whether or not he is the root of the blunder and chaos on polling day is besides the point. What draws the ultimate picture is the credibility of the EC's leader and his ability to take responsibility over what happened, regardless of where the fault lies.

Just like us,who point knifes at teachers for not being corcerned about their student's well being,or criticising parents for not bringing up a delinquent child in a more positive and warm way, everyone looks to the person above to take the fault. And it is rightly so, for the fallen person to admit failure and incompetency.

What the EC should have done is concentrate on its core responsibilities, not on petty things such as election posters and banners. After all, the elections aren't a monthly affair, like our tests whereby you just console yourself that you'll do better next month, after screwing up.

And then there's the rush to make everything electronic. e this and e that. The country boasts of Multimedia Super Corridor and what not, when the reality shows more people lining up in frustration along corridors on Polling Day (how about our version of D-Day?). If this is what MSC is about, excuse me while i snicker. Why didn't the polling agents have proper training in contingency planning? I guess you could blame one or two glitches on 'takdir', but was it only a couple?

Yes,we are in the era of science and technology, and by all means things should be made simpler. But have you wondered why that in our father's days this electoral process had minor glitches,if none? It's because the people in charge then were dedicated to their work and took ther responsibilities seriously. They cared about their childrens future and acknowledged that one person does in fact, make a difference. Even national exam papers didnt have careless mistakes like what seems the norm these days. Now its a miracle if there aren't mistakes in exam questions.

Hows is a party's logo misprinted? No one checks what comes back from the printers? The people in this country never fail to amaze me. Look where our 'Malaysia Boleh' slogan has left us; a shameful election process that has reveled many inconsistencies and lack of ethics. While I'm at this, I have to add that I've been made aware that there were clerks who were taking down IC numbers of voters upon directions from 'orang atasan'. How far does this allegation claim to be true, I would like to know.

I recently turned 21 was eager to vote this year. But with the exams 2 months ago and anticipating the way Malaysians work, I decided to give it a miss and did not register as a voter. And seeing what happened last week, I have no regrets. It's heartening to see some citizens who had the dilligence to shuttle forth between places, trying to rectify confusions regarding names and polling stations. I wish I knew where this persistence came from, because I would have just gone back after the first stop. And after thrashing the people on duty, of course. I quote a Malay lady who was interviewed on TV, "Balik rumah cuci kain, lagi senang".

enough of elections already..get to work!!

in the spirit of the elections, here's a wish list i made..

1)more public universities

is it really so hard to build more public universities?one shopping mall after another is being built these days(there's more than five giordano outlets in the klang valley alone..is that necessary?),how bout making space for a few more IPTAs.especially those that offer 'professional' courses such as medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry and law.

its sad to see so many discouraged and rejected even when they have made the minimum requirements.even more so when these are the ppl who are really passionate about these fields.its a simple concept, you produce the results and we'll give you the opportunity.these days, its all about luck.you cant say for sure if you'd get what you want, even with a CGPA of 4.0.

2)better public transportation

this has been a plea for oh-so-long,yet our public transport remains as it is,atrocious.take penang for an instance.gurney plaza is a tourist spot.yet there are no busses that stop infront of it.you either have to get down at midlands or the batu ferringhi road and walk.mind you, pedestrians crossing a round-a-bout isnt good news.if you cant sleep, dont count sheep, count the number of cars in penang.

has anyone of u been in those terrible mini busses that im subjected to every time i go out?the windows are covered with advertistments.i dont even know when to ring the stupid bell coz i cant see out of the bus.n dont let me start on the bus drivers.such a rude lot.only interested in making money by jamming the bus like a can of sardines.the poor old ppl that hang on for dear life as the drivers take the roads like a cow gone mad.

i heard in horror in the news the other day that some smart politician pledged to develop penang.some more?is he off his rockers?well,if his notion of development is a monorail link,by all means..be my guest.other than that...please clean up the jelutong river...it's black.i wouldnt for the life of me want to know whats living in there.

look at the bus stations..besides it being full of weirdos and school children playing truant, smoking and flirting in corners and making out under bushes,it's filthy!the air is grey from pollution and ur lucky if you can set foot on the ground without stepping on some sort of rubbish or other.the main bus station in the heart of klang town and the one at komtar, penang are classics.

and MPs, while you're at it..if you ever get to it,that is..please light up the bus stops.n tell the drivers to bloody stop at the bus stops...there's a reason y its call a 'bus stop'.

3)a major overhaul in the education system

it isnt a wonder why we produce idiots in our society.just take a look at the system;the people, the educators, the policy-makers.everyone has only one objective;to get their job done the easist and fastest way possible.

i love to people watch, and one place that never fails to amuse me is my own university.i'm not proclaiming that i'm super smart,or superior to anyone (well, there may be some..),but what i'm trying to say is,if you have seen what i've seen in public universities(i can only speak for public universities, coz i'm only exposed to that),i'm sure you would have already taken an oath not to send your kids there.3/4 dont behave like undergrads.in fact, they behave like those you see sitting on the benches in parks.zero communication skills, zero professionalism, zero common sense.their greatest interest are in things that arent at all relevant to them.
where did they go wrong,we wonder?SPOONFEEDING.right from babies,to graduates with no essence.

this point also includes my wish so that the ministry consider abolishing the matriculation program so that everyone has equal opportunity in this playing field.politicians say that the stpm and matriculation are on par with each other.rubbish.if its the same, why have two?save the headache and conduct only one pre-u course for the local universities.y abolish the matriculation and not the stpm, you ask?simple.the stpm doesnt just touch things on the surface.it provides you with a good 2-year worth of wholesome knowledge.nothing else can substitute this to prepare you for university.dont believe me?do a random check on the number of top students and which pre-u course they did.

there...aint that a simple wish list?it speaks on behalf of so many.ironically,it fails to reach upstairs,to the ears of the administration.lets start this new term with the implementation of useful policies.
put aside revenue wasting projects.no more likes of the KLCC(money making scheme, ridiculous parking rates, the rates at the food court are only fit for royalty standards),KLIA,mid valley(only if you can work on more parking spaces,no more traffic congestion),cyberjaya/putrajaya(so inaccesible) with its phenomenal costing lamp posts (what kinda supernatural rays does it emit?),please..

wishful thinking...

I swear if a pin drops…it’ll be as loud as a gong.
That’s how quiet the house is.no one’s home.only me,myself and i.
it’s scary when you’re left alone with your thoughts.crazy flashes bolt across my mind.i’m walking out of my limo,to the thunderous applause of my fans, looking every inch Beyonce.cameras flashing and what not.
now I’m 72,rocking in my chair, lookin out the window, wondering y it takes so long to get dark these days.i look acroos the room,n there, lying on the couch is my immobile husband.cant recall for the life of me what I saw in that man.80 and braided, hell, that’s resh.now I remember.;)
where in the world did that come from?no,I’m not at the crossroads of Mariah-Britney’s phase of depression-cum-denial.i cant be..

anyway, last night I changed my ringtone to ‘oh,Carol’ , the oldie.thats not a sign that I’m getting old,is it?let you in on more, here’s my music these day…the look of love, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps, cant take my eyes of you, unchained melody, wonderful tonight.
I am getting old.

I watched Oprah on thursday afternoon, she turned the big 50 today.on the 29th of January actually.cant help it if we get very updated episodes now,can we?
Well,I wouldn’t mind turning 50 if I were oprah.a 400 pound cake is something to look forward to.yummy.and those pj’s were oh-so-cute.

But the hard truth is,I’m 21 going on 22 and haven’t worn a tube in my life.
soon I’ll be wrinkly and the partying would be reduced to four ppl sitting at the dining table over roast turkey and wine.oh,and the most horrifying thing is,my girlfrens and I are all wearing PEARLS!! and the conversation would revolve around which brat did what a nightmare indeed, but i see it coming.and Next Episode would mean the next episode of the bold and beautiful.

But the consolation is that I’m gonna drag my big fat butt to the gym and sweat it out next semester onwards and get into that tube by the end of this year.impossiblie or not!scouts honour!even if it means getting up at 5 a.m.

the only way I can actually bring myself to achieve this is to invest in a ridiculously expensive fitness centre.that’ll make sure I get my moneys worth.and that too, will leave me broke so that I wont have money to eat!ha!the perfect plan…somewhere at the back of my mind though,I know this’ll backfire..just like every other resolution i’ve made.

Wouldn’t it be easier if I were one of those freaks who love to exercise?

oh yeah, gotta do something bout this pimple plantation too.
god,would you give up playing the farmer?ok,I hear you.it’s not you.its the food I eat and don’t eat.it’s exercise regime that I don’t follow.its the elevator I take,instead of the stairs.sheesh…now it’s all my fault that I’m a hippopotamus.

hey, its the elections! dreams come true here... right?

Well, whaddaya know...its the elections around the corner and looks who's promising sweet nothings to ignorant and naïve voters.
good roads, better markets, world class drainage systems, great education for our children, equal opportunity for the ppl (right!)
someone should really make this into a chorus of a theme song for the election campaign.
coz it's only sung then.

Where are the MPss on the other days? y don't they come out and hug old folks and lil babies then? y the pretence? Maybe you can fool the baby boomers but not us, the babies.
just because we don't have a voice yet, doesn't mean that we don't have eyes. "we're watching you" I quote the NST for the youthquake, last Friday.

Wednesday's evening news saw the works minister announcing that the jalan pahang toll booths would be closed for good, beginning the night of the 18th and not at the end of this month like planned. hhhmmmmm... y the haste, we wonder? when's the elections, again? 21st? right? I thought so.

U know what angers me? double standards. no, I'm no champion of the opposition, though I'll have to admit that they do bring up some pretty good issues that others are desperately trying to sweep under the rug.
The thing is y are the newspapers and the tv stations dominated by the ruling front? where is "undilah DAP" in the papers? i'm sure they have funds for that. If campaigning in the papers are allowed, it should be made possible for everyone... or to make things easier, disallow it for everyone. hows that? the truth is, no one enjoys paying rm 1.20 for repetitive pages. all's fair in love and war, they say. well, this is "war" and where's this fairness?if I may ask.

u know what the newspapers should print instead? FAQs of the voting system and procedures. ppl who have been dead for years seem to be eligible to vote, but not those who are alive, but rnt residing in their hometown due to several reasons. it's not that they cant vote, but are in the dark of the procedures. Are they entitled to vote by post? or is that a priveledge only the security force are entitled to?

what about university students? especially those separated by the east/west malaysia factor? r they supposed to take a flight home to register? and then take another flight to vote? y cant the EC do some sort of a road show thingy whereby they visit the IPT's and allow the students to register/vote from there? can you register online?
you dont bother explaining, we dont bother to vote. thats the mindset of many of whom i've talked to. it's as simple as that, they say. justified,i add.

Why do I rarely see ?ceramahs by the opposition leaders on air? cant remember if I did.. must be getting senile?
there's another thing that comes to mind, now that I'm at this.. we need new blood in our representative parties. honestly, i'm amazed at how thick some politicians are. somehow, they dont get the hint that it's time to leave. even mules rnt that stubborn.my advice? leave gracefully before you're disgraced.

and,did you know.. we only get sambal belacan in malaysia..? how great is that? nope, none in indon, none in thailand...only malaysia. now, isnt that a reason to be grateful?
